Foreign products and their expiration dates
Foreign Products and Their Expiration
In this article, we will answer all the uncertainties you might encounter with our products.
99% of our assortment can be consumed even after the "best before" date. Products past their expiration are marked with an "expired" icon and are always specially discounted.
You will hardly find "Use by" products on our e-shop, these are always removed from sale after expiration.
Best before date by month: If the packaging only shows the month and year, it means the best before date is until the end of the mentioned month. For example: 10/2020 = 31.10.2020.
Most Vietnamese products do not display a best before date, but only the manufacturing date = "ngày sản xuất" (NSX). Vietnamese products typically last 6–12 months from the manufacturing date. For example, if manufacturing date (NSX) is 12.7.2020, best before date = Hạn Sử Dụng (HSD) is until 12.1.2021 - 12.7.2021.
Most Chinese, Iranian, and especially Korean products (e.g., ramyeon) list the manufacturing and best before dates in reverse order, from right to left. For example: 21.10.16 = best before date 16.10.2021.
Some American products, especially canned goods, may have the best before date marked with letters, where the months from January to December are labeled A to L, followed by the day and year. For example: A921 = 9.1.2021.
